Get Involved — Volunteer!

When adults volunteer, all students benefit! There are many opportunities for parents and community members to get involved!  Your help is needed!  Please read below for a summary of our available committees and volunteer opportunities. You may reach out to the PTO Volunteer Coordinator or Committee Coordinator with specific questions.

The PTO Board will be on hand to answer questions at the following events:

Dolphin Dive Parent Night

2023 - 2024 Dickinson PTO Committees

This group is perfect for parents who are available during the weekday! You will be helping the teachers and admins with a variety of tasks in the teacher workroom and throughout the school.

Coordinates the logistics for special events (Trunk or Treat in the fall and Rock & Roll Bingo in the spring). Helps obtain necessary funds for the events. Volunteers are needed to help with activities prior to, during, and after events.

A great weekend volunteer opportunity! This group is responsible for updating the garden needs, signage, etc. Upcoming projects will be to revive the butterfly garden on the side of the school and get quotes for a shade area for the playground.

Ron Clark is new to Dickinson this year, but think four "Harry Potter style" houses at Dickinson that students will be divided into! This committee will be responsible for decorating for Dickinson "House Color" days that will occur throughout the school year.

A room parent is a great way to help your student's teacher and be the liaison between the teacher and the parents. Some of your responsibilities will include: coordinating a monthly team snack with other room parents from your grade, class birthday treat for your teacher, organizing holiday party help. Minimal time involved with this one.

WATCH D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students) (COORDINATOR: Jason Sulak)

Great for dads and grandparents to get involved. Does include giving up a weekday from 7am-3:15pm, but this year you will be able to really make a difference on campus with an active presence: carline, perimeter checks, lunchroom monitor, recess, classroom help, etc. An info meeting with take place in September so stay tuned

LIBRARY (COORDINATOR: Dickinson Librarian Ms. Bromonsky)

Volunteer to assist librarian with various tasks. Please contact the librarian to coordinate volunteer needs.

YEARBOOK (COORDINATORS: Anne Heyden & Candice O'Brien)

The PTO is responsible for Dickinson's annual yearbook. We have a chairman who puts It all together, but our biggest need is a team to help with pictures!

We will always need help throughout the year at various events. Be on the lookout for opportunities to sign-up on our Dickinson PTO Facebook page or reach out to Katy Cummings at president@dickinsonpto.com
