Our annual Volunteer Interest Form will be available at our Volunteer Interest Meeting on Tuesday, August 18th at 8:00 AM in the Cafeteria!

LCISD Requires all volunteers to complete an annual background check.  Access this HERE!

LCISD is implementing a Volunteer Portal for 2026-2027. This program will allow you to perform various volunteer-related tasks, as configured by Dickinson PTO, as well as track volunteer hours throughout the year.  You can access the portal HERE! 

When adults volunteer, all students benefit! There are many opportunities for parents and community members to get involved!  Your help is needed!  Please read below for a summary of our available committees and volunteer opportunities. You may reach out to the PTO Volunteer Coordinator or Committee Coordinator with specific questions.

WORKROOM VOLUNTEER

Perfect for parents available during weekdays! Volunteers will support teachers and staff with various tasks in the teacher workroom and around campus.

HOSPITALITY COMMITTEE

Join the Hospitality Committee and help create a warm, welcoming atmosphere for our teachers and staff! Volunteers assist with planning, decorating, setting up, and serving at breakfasts, lunches, and other celebrations throughout the year. Opportunities are available to fit a variety of schedules.

TRUNK OR TREAT – DECORATIONS & EVENT PLANNING

Trunk or Treat is our annual community event and fundraiser, organized entirely by the PTO! Help is needed with candy donations, signage, decorations, games, and more. A fun, flexible committee!

TRUNK OR TREAT – FUNDRAISING & SILENT AUCTION

As our biggest fundraiser of the year, the Silent Auction is a major part of Trunk or Treat’s success! This is a great fit for those who enjoy fundraising and networking. We seek donations from local businesses—no donation is too small. The committee works from mid-August through October 20th.

CAMPUS BEAUTIFICATION

A great weekend volunteer opportunity! This team will help with garden maintenance, signage updates, and special projects—like reviving the butterfly garden and obtaining quotes for a playground shade area.

ROOM PARENT

Support your student’s teacher and serve as a liaison between the teacher and class parents. Responsibilities include coordinating monthly team snacks, teacher birthday treats, and organizing holiday party volunteers. This is a low-time-commitment role.
Deadline: Please submit the volunteer form by Thursday, August 20th.

WATCH D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students)

Ideal for dads and grandparents looking to get involved! This role involves spending a school day on campus (7:00 AM–3:15 PM), helping with carline, perimeter checks, lunchroom duty, recess, classroom support, and more.

YEARBOOK

The PTO oversees Dickinson’s annual yearbook. While a chairperson handles layout and design, we need volunteers to help take and gather photos throughout the year.

LIBRARY

Assist the librarian with daily tasks on Mondays and Fridays, and during the Fall and Spring Book Fairs.

INNOVATIVE LEARNING DAY VOLUNTEERS

Lamar CISD is implementing Innovative Learning Days! Volunteers will assist during the Library Rotation—helping students with reading activities, book checkouts, and STEM projects.
